Merrill Dubrow: My name is Merrill Dubrow, CEO of M/A/R/C Research and a 35-plus year veteran of the Insights Community and the host of our podcast on the M/A/R/C Merrill-ISM. Welcome to another On the M/A/R/C Merrill-ISM, attention Gen Z, this might be helpful. All right, today's Merrill-ISM is going to start with another probably boring story. So there I am, I'm on a plane, heading to the East Coast, and I get a text from my old friend and industry contact, Michelle Adams, who asked if I was around for a quick call and I responded that I was on the plane taking off in a few minutes. I could text, but not talk. And, you know, Michelle was funny. She was on her way to present at a conference at UTA and was looking for a quote or a Merrill-ISM. She asked me what was my number one thing that I look for in a hire. And my response was passion, competitiveness. I don't really care a ton about grades. I really like to hire people who give back and get involved, get involved in the industry, whether it's the Boy Scouts, whether it's a fraternity, a sorority, a nonprofit. It doesn't matter, I like people who get involved. She then asked me one more question, which is advice for students. And as I typed away, here's what I said, "My advice would be, be patient, work hard, take on special projects. My belief is if they do, that will separate themselves from the pack and they will be successful." What do you think of my response? How would you have responded to Michelle? Thanks for listening to today's on the M/A/R/C Merrill-ISM, attention Gen Z, this might be helpful. I truly hope you enjoyed today's subject. My name is Merrill Dubrow. I look forward to hearing from you. Stay well, stay safe, and please, please stay in touch.
